YouTube

YouTube blocks server-side downloads. Use our Chrome extension on the video page — it reads captions and media from your browser, then sends the transcript to us for summarising.

  1. Download the extension zip, unzip it, then in Chrome open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, and click Load unpacked — choose the unzipped folder.
  2. Open any YouTube video.
  3. Click the fixandtranscribe icon in your toolbar, or use the panel injected on the page.
  4. Pick Transcript, Audio, or Video.

Pasting a YouTube link on this website no longer works — YouTube’s blocks make that unreliable. The extension runs on youtube.com itself, so it always has access to captions and download URLs.
